Default Tint tips

Hey guys, finally getting real close to closing on a black 2013 FX4 s/crew/shortbox appearance and 402a. My question is this. I want to tint the front windows around 32 to 35%, but I'm unsure of the best film to use for late model f150s. On my cars, I've always gone with llumar. But for trucks, people around where I live seem to recommend sunguard. I'm looking for one that looks black (and not greenish, inside or out) that is close to the darker factory tint. Please make your recommendations... I will then look for a shop in my city that carries that brand. Thanks very much!!

You should ask a tint shop about how well it matches since they tint trucks everyday.

Not sure about 35% making a difference in the looks dept. though. I would only go with 20% to match the rear or darker.

Here's llumar CTX 20% ceramic tint on the fronts of a black 2013. Matches the back pretty well. (I didn't put any on to the existing stock backs)

I've been wondering this myself. It's been several years since I've tinted windows and wanted to do the fronts to match the rears myself.

I apologize fellow posters. When I started this thread, I should have specified that going the same darkness as the stock backs would be out of the question for me, where I live. What I meant by "matching" was that I was looking for a film in which, even if I went lighter (32 to 35%), the "shade" of black, or charcoal or whatever they call it, would be similar to the factory rear tint, if this makes any sense at all. Obviously, my fronts would be lighter then, but just looking for a similar color, albeit a lighter one. Azuri... my tint shop actually recommended the exact llumar ceramic you have, but these guys won't install anything darker than 35% on the front, so the manager says. I will probably go with the 35 llumar then, as I'm looking for something lighter than the backs. And since I am going lighter, I shouldn't be too concerned with "matching"?? Much appreciated everyone!

For example, let's just say, hypothetically, that my truck came with dark green tint on the backs. I'd be looking for a front tint, then, that would be "light" green... as opposed to one that looks, say, light blue. Do I make any sense lol? Or do I not understand the tint and color process lol? Thanks again.

I understand your question better now. Mine does have a green tinge when looked at from certain angles in the bright sun. I'm not familiar with all brands or their shades of color but matching the factory tint is tough it's baked or colored right into the glass not sure if any tint company can match that.
