Default Throw your aluminum truck rear shocks on the pile:

Take a picture of your new ones and post them and the old if you like. Many owners have noticed the OEM Gas shocks are really weak.
The banding on the new for easy install.

The shock moves less distance than the axle does during a sharp bump and will ride in the 22.5" area until a bump is met. Expect a more noticeable ride but the truck responds Very well and cornering is crisp with a secure feeling.

4X2 stock OEM shocks and the trade of putting on the Bilstein with the stronger gas charged shocks over the factory ones is more road noise. The shock is compressed about 6 1/2 - 7 inches when installed/at ride height, 29 inches centered when removed.

As stated many owners complain the 15 / 16 aluminum truck drives with OEM shocks porely over ripples in the pavement. Obviously not yours so don't throw yours on the pile. Mine exibited the exact definition with less than 500 miles on it thus OEM shocks are thrown on the pile. It now has 6000 miles of feeling the ride is safe driving on it.
