Default Thoughts on this truck?

I sold my 05' bought a car and hate it so I am searching for a cheaper, "new" truck. What are your thoughts about this one? http://fortwayne.craigslist.org/cto/2377749403.html

It has the 5.4L and has never been offroad. Guy's daughter drives it and she wants something smaller. Should I be concerned with the mileage? What else should I look for?

Is it just me, or does $8500 seem kinda high for it?

Daughter probably beats on it without letting anything warm up, pays little attention to maintenence and hopes dad catches everything on it.

Looks good though! So it's possible the daughter is older (20s) and takes care of the truck.

I'd say it deserves a test drive at least, it's too nice looking to completely pass on without looking more into

Rusted out rocker panels. A bubbling is not a sign of surface rust, the go from the inside out. When the paint bubbles, they are gone.
The dealer tried telling me that mine were just surface rust, till I poked my finger through the steel.

Wasn't a deal breaker for me, just something to look for.

I wouldn't be surprised if you see under 10 mpg running around in it. My 31" Thornbirds weighed 91 lbs each. Not the most efficient tires out there.

Mileage is a lil high AND chipped engine so def check Car Fax and as much maintenance documentation as possible. What is the BlueBook for it? I am sure they want a little more $$$ due to aftermarket stuff. Besides that def do a thorough 360 inspection. Personally I stay away from chipped used trucks/cars.

So whats up with the car? Was it a MPG thing or didn't think it all the way through? hehe

That actually lowers the resale value. Use it to your advantage.

Id stay away just because of the tire. Tbirds are something hate. Haha. Looks ok but id be wary of it claiming maintaied by an ASE mechanic its like trying to comfort people to the fact something is wrong.

I can almost guarantee you'll want new tires ASAP. Thornbirds suck on the road! They're bias ply so they ride rough as he'll especially if you live in a cold climate where they will get flat spots overnight. And they are super loud. About a year ago I got offered 9k for my 01 supercrew, though this was for a trade in on a 35k truck. My truck is super clean and at the time had 98,000 miles. So I'd say this one is overpriced. But if you like it go for it.
