I have an 05 fx4 with about 89k on it and would really like to supercharge it what is y'alls thoughts? Truck runs strong and tranny steal seems strong

What motor?

If its the 5.4 you can get the roush charger if it the 4.6 i think its a DIY.

Thats risky, if its got 90k on it and you start cramming air into those cylinders you could run into some serious issues.

would an sts turbo kit be a better way to go? or do I just need to leave it alone?

Any kind of forced induction can give you serious issues if not done correctly, you could blow seals, burn out bearings, burn throw cylinder walls, scrap your tranny or differential. Thats why so many "ricers" blow up their cars, because they think they can just put a turbo on anything. If you buy a car from the factory that has a turbo on it then the motor is set to different specs in order to handle it.

I want to do the sts turbo also 1 of my many wants and I have 85,000 on mine

well thats why I asked before I did anything because I am uneducated about stuff like that and there are plenty of people on here that are...I am tho upgrading my edge and going to be contacting troyer about a tune....done anyone know right off about how much that cost?

some bad info here. You can add FI to anything at anytime. Respect it for what it is, tune it right and you'll be fine

Thanks for advertising your post for what it is: Bad info.

Forced induction puts severe stresses on internal components. If the components are worn already, (and at 80K plus miles they are) something will give, and it will be expensive.
