your finger... and the fact you have to shift into neutral blah blah blah etc etc... The owners manual has some very useful info.

I had a 2002 and actually did that a couple of times during the 1st month or so of ownership. It was never a problem after I got accustomed to the truck. The 4X4 switch was close to the HVAC control and operated similar. My 2014 has the 4X4 controls located in a better spot and I don't think it will ever be a problem.

Depending on the year it may not switch. If I turn mine to 2l it won't do anything until I change to neutral (2015).

4H is shift on the fly, need to go to neutral before it will shift or 4L.

Unless they moved it for 2016 my 4x4 switch is away from any other ***** for the most part... Not sure how people keep having issues with this because I've seen a similar thread in the 04-08 section. Best advice I can give is either look before turning, or splice in a switch that you mount that will not allow the **** to select something else unless it is flipped. Basically just cut power to the **** if the switch is off.

Who cares if you accidentally hit it? 4H is on the fly, and 4L / E-locker won't do anything if you accidentally move them.

If you're not within the correct speed or gear when switching 4WD mode the computer won't do anything but display a message on the screen advising you to take the correct steps first.

It's dummy proof.
