Can anyone tell me anything about the 2004 triton 5.4 ??
I test drove one today and it started making a noise that can only be described as a deisel idleing. Not a real loud sound but one that the dealerships wrench turner said needed to be repaired. Something about a clampdown I think he muttered. I also heard under his breath about $1000.00 to repair. OUCH!! Needless to say I left the truck on the lot! Would appreciate any insight that could be given...Thanks Linda

 

Not sure of a clampdown, but maybe cam phasor? Never had a problem with them, but know people here have. If you really like the truck, tell them to replace it with a warranty before you sign.
