Default Takin it off

I have a 2010 fx2 and I wanna take my muffler off so I can just run my cats and pipes.. Is this a bad idea? Will it hurt my truck in any way? It sounds soo good without the mufflers!

Just cut the muffler out and replace it with a piece of exhaust tubing. Plenty of guys do it.
I think it just sounds like a truck with no muffler. But if you like it,go for it.

you could set it you the way my truck is. I have a very small glass pack about 12 inches long which gives a nice musical note and mellows out the rough edges. go here. http://www.cherrybomb.com/

I guess you can go muffler'less if you dont have neighbors to annoy and the next SMOG is not for awhile. Besides that it wont cause issues. I know a few may think the lack of back pressure from no muffler may burn your valves but that is mostly myth. New cars/trucks have smart enough ECUs to compensate fuel/air mixture.

My friends said there wouldn't be enough back pressure. In a way I don't believe them but both r previously mechanics sooo... But if I just took off the piece of pipe the connects the muffler to the end of the cats and left the other exhaust on would it bounce around and stuff? Or would water or animals get in it and ruin it?

Yes, squirrels will get in there, then they can't maneuver enough to get back out. That's why the muffler is there,it gives them a place to turn around.

So would that be a bad idea to just take that connecting pipe off?

you'll be fine. you can run whatever you want behind your cats and have no problems with backpressure. you can even get hi flow cats too if you really wanted.
