Default Tailpipe soot (lack of)

When I traded my 16 xlt 2.7 for my 20 Lariat 2.7 last winter, one of the things I was interested in was to see if the dual injection really did cut down on tailpipe soot. The 16 was really sooty. Not sure how important it is, but the 20 has no soot (only 5k miles on it though).
Sidenote - need to get an exhaust tip. Kinda plain looking lol.

For the tip, I went with the Ford OEM one. Got it for $65 at my local dealer and it's the same one these trucks come with off of the assembly line. No ugly band clamp/bolt style clamp either, it's a press-fit. Grab a block of wood and hammer like the instructions included say to, tap on, and forget!
