Default Tailgate Mat

Bought a Husky bed liner. Can't find that they make a mat for tailgate. Found one I like but it requires holes be drilled. I'm having a hard time with drilling holes in a brand new truck. Suck up and drill? Is there something else?

That's what I would try. And CLEAN the surfaces at least twice. Plus try adhesive activator on the plastic.

i don’t know the new trucks/tailgates, but aren’t there any factory panels/bolts on your tailgate?

(remove a couple bolts, lay mat down, drill mat, reinstall factory bolt)

Agreed, remove the panel used to reach the back of the tailgate handle, take the bolts to the local hardware store and find similar size/thread longer to compensate for the thickness of the mat, drill holes into the mat using the the tailgate panel as a template and screw it back it in.

I had the same issue with a different brand tailgate mat. Tried industrial strength Velcro tape.

Did not work !!!

Since I had the bed sprayed with Line-X when new I don’t really need the tailgate mat and have not used it in the truck.

I think you will need to bite the bullet and drill holes.
