Default Tailgate lock not functioning

I have a 2015 f150 lariat supercrew cab. I had the tailgate replaced with a 2016 salvage tailgate that is not equipped with a power lift gate. However the truck originally was equipped with a power lift gate. The camera works fine, but the tailgate does not lock when the doors are locked. Can anyone offer a solution with getting this current tailgate to lock and unlock? I'm not worried about the power liftgate features.
Thank You

Is there a function to turn this on and or off in the dash settings?

I may be way off but on the power gates I think "lock" just disables the pushbutton/signal for opening it rather than being a physical latch disengagement like on the standard gate.

There are configurations which need set in the BCM for this because the higher trim packages have an extra key fob antenna in the tailgate that operate on different frequencies than standard models for the passive unlocking.

I don't know if enabling the lock function can be done in this case.

If it is fob-frequency dependent (I believe they are), enabling the tailgate to lock should deactivate the ability to use the key fob on the rest of the truck.

The answer is in the BCM for sure, but I don't think it is possible to mismatch door and tailgate antenna frequency types.

Thank you your reply. I was thinking this was electrical in nature. Perhaps a mismatch with the wiring harness and plug ay the back of the truck and the one that is in the replacement tailgate. My bodyshop ordered the tailgate wiring harness to match the the truck Vin. Howerever there were many more connection points in that harness than points of connection in the tailgate. Perhaps sensors and a different lock actuator since the truck had the remote liftgate originally. So they did not install it. Am I out of luck?
