Default Tailgate Ajar?

I keep getting an alert that my tailgate is ajar when any item is touching the tailgate from the inside of the bed.
Could be a mower handle up against it, or a bike bumping into it. Doesn’t take much. Blinks on and off when brakes applied removing the slight touch.

Anyone know if there’s an adjustment for this, a sensor needing moving, wherever it is?

Thanks, a search didn’t turn up much.
2025 King Ranch with Access tailgate. Less than 10k miles.

There's such a thing? What happens if the tailgate is DOWN, whilst transporting something?

I have a 2023 Lariat and you will get a message on the dash if your tailgate is down. It can be cleared by pressing the OK button on the steering wheel. You will also get a message if the tailgate didn’t close properly. It happened to me but the tailgate looked properly closed but it wasn’t. Try to open and close the tailgate again to see if it clears, mine did.

Are you missing the rubber bumpers that snug up the tailgate when closed? Mine were not installed correctly and fell out which resulted in the tailgate jiggling and rattling. I never saw the message but I hadn't had anything in the bed that would touch the tailgate while driving.

No. The tailgate is very secured when shut. Hard to understand how a small amount of pressure from the inside could cause this. I can’t find any type of prox switch that triggers it.

Apparently this is not a common problem.

I got a tailgate ajar warning with it closed. Truck has the Pro access tailgate. And I swung the center section shut on a section of 1/2” nylon rope.
