We bought a little yamaha 2000w generator (quiet as can be, only like 50 dBs when running) and a cheap-o digital amplifier (110v). From there I just plug in my phone and go...
This is what we bought. Its cheap, but we use it only for tailgating so it works perfectly for what we do. With both speakers going its LOOOUUUUDDDD

Damn that's pretty good. The quiet-ness is definitely a factor. We have a 5500w genny for our well when powers out, and that thing is pretty loud. Just a hair quieter than a lawnmower, and not as soothing sounding. Although me being me, I may put my old flowmaster on a new genny
