Tail gate step
Has anyone installed the tail gate step as an aftermarket installation? If so please let me know because I would love to get one for my truck. Hopefully this is not a repeat thread..thanks guys
I don't think you can add the OE step and stripper pole to a tailgate that didn't come with one.
I think the only way to add the OE one to your truck is to get a new tailgate that already has it.
Here's a somewhat similar aftermarket step. It doesn't have the mini-stripper pole, but would be a lot cheaper than getting a new tailgate:

I have to be honest; I laughed when they told me what the "stripper pole" was and demo'd the step for me when I was looking at new F-150's. I could face away from the truck, place my palms on the tailgate, hop up, spin around and stand up before the sales person could figure out how to get the step to pop out. I suppose people like gimmicks and that's all it is to me. But I do love all the nice stuff that comes with the 302A package though
I think some of those aftermarket steps without a pole would be rather dangerous since there's nothing to hold on to when you step up. Just my opinion.
