t18 Tranny
OK guys I am into the old stuff - T18 4 speed with granny low.
I just need to know whether this is OK or is it about to have an internal explosion.
Problem - rattles in neutral and whines in 4th gear.
Here are some facts so I do not waste your time:
yes - I have fresh oil 80-90W synthetic
yes - the synchros work fine and changes smoothly
no - it does not whine in any other gear
yes - I have replaced the input drive shaft and bearing with new ones
yes - it was checked by a "professional" (I thought so anyhow!) before installation
yes - as part of the tranny change I had to have the Bell Housing drilled for the studs (perhaps it is not perfectly aligned with the flywheel)
HELP! I do not mind my fellow motorists looking at me but I do not want it to explode!
