System shut down
I was listening to my radio while working around the truck while off and radio went silent and screen showed System Shut down to save battery. It will not start and seems dead. Can I charge the battery
You can charge the battery. Do it on the lowest amp setting if you have the time to wait. But that's odd it won't start now, it should shut off way before the battery is that low on power, unless your battery is old and isn't holding a good charge to begin with.
Yes, I was doing some wiring on my trailer and left the park lights on, while I unplugged the wiring harness to complete some soldering. When i went back to my truck I had a message similar to this, but the truck started right up. I think there is a built in safety to shut down power once the battery drops to a certain level, allowing you to start it before the battery goes completely dead.
And ... "the truck" IS?
