I logged in to the WiFi at my house. I didn't find any new features by doing this. What should I be looking for?

If you are able to login to Wifi with Sync, what is its purpose?

No idea, read your owners manual, pretty sure all your questions can be answered with that document.

Owners manual or the Ford website will tell you what it does. I can tell you it doesn’t do enough to waste your time asking about it..
