Is there a Ford upgrade for the Sync 3.0 to the 3.4 available? I’ve seen some YouTube videos but they seem to be using something other than a licensed Ford update.

 

I have heard that it's coming soon, and October has been mentioned as a release date.

What I've seen conflicting reports on is whether or not Sync 3 will upgrade to Sync 4. I was interested in this because Ford is supposed to be adding wireless connection capability to their head units for Android Auto and Apple Car Play. I had that feature in a Kenwood head unit in my previous truck and it was very handy for those short trips where you just don't want to bother plugging in the USB cable.

My 2019 F-150 automatically updated from SYNC 3.3 to SYNC 3.4 this week.

No I did not. My "automatic system updates" are turned on and it connects to my home wifi when I am parked in the driveway.
I saw a message that "software updated".

 

SYNC 3.0 is much different than 3.3. I was under the impression that if you had a 2018 or earlier with 3.0, that is the highest version you would ever be able to get directly from Ford. There is at least 1 thread on this board that I am aware of that shows how to upgrade from 3.0 to 3.4. That upgrade will not be supported by Ford though, so should you have issues with it be prepared to pay the dealer to reflash your system back to 3.0

did you start with 3.0 or 3.3 from the factory? I was thinking 3.3 didn’t come from the factory until the 2019s, but it might have started on the 2018s.
