Default Superchip or Edge?

Was wondering 2 questions. 1 Superchips or Edge programmers? And 2 how much fuel is sacrificed on the performance settings? I had a jeep. And put a Superchip in it and on performance running higher octane I lost 100k a tank. Now I finally have a 2004 F150 5.4l I don't want to lose that much fuel economy for 30 horses and 50 torque give or take.

Another question with the tuners once you set them to performance do you have to upgrade the octane?

On a canned device yes, most run 91. On a custom tuned device you can get a performance tune for any octane.

"Canned" tunes are written as a generic for a model of truck....F150 in our case. 5.4 or 4.6 STOCK trucks. Custom tunes are tunes that you have specifically written for you truck and any mods you have done. Custom tunes usually provide better performance because it it tuned specifically for your truck. Also running a cold air intake or other mods without a custom tune can lead to your engine running lean, plus your not getting all the advantage from your mods without a custom tune.
