supercab sub box dimension issues
I am in the attempt of building a box for a 10" sub under my back seat. From looking online companies are building boxes that give over 5" of mounting depth I only need 4.75 (sundown Audio SD-2 is the sub) but I dont understand how they are getting this depth? on the front theres 8" of room floor to seat maxed out, in the back theres 4.5" take out an inch on the bottom for excusion (I dont think thats enough but idk) and factoring in the 1.5" gone to the mdf that leaves an average of 4.25, how do they do it?
On a side note how important is it to use 3/4" mdf vs 1/2" because that would solve my issue I think
Thanks for any help

it may be because the box doesn't go all the way to the back where the room is the smallest. that's how mine is, it pokes out from under the seat some. i just bought it from a local shop cause it fit, i haven't done any measurements
