Post suggestions please!

Hey guys, I need some suggestions on a number of things:

1. exhaust system

I want it to be loud, but not to overbearing. I want it just loud enough so people know I'm coming, but not literally from a mile away.

2. chip/tuner

Something to help me enhance my truck's performance and save some gas.

3. alarm system

Something that will alert me. Maybe a system that can send phone alerts, or has a little beeper so I know if something is going on with my truck.

4. body lift

I have a 6 inch lift with 35's, but I was wondering how big of a body lift I could add to where it will still look good. Pictures of it are a bonus!

Thanks for the help!

Hi Vanessa, welcome to the forum, answers will vary from member to member, so here are my 2 cents:

1. I've always liked Flowmaster

2. Hypertech tuner.

3. Look into Viper or Code Alarm.

4. I wouldn't go over 2 inches on a body lift, doesn't look good if it's more. You will also need to look at filler panels to fill in the unsightly gaps that you may experience with a body lift.

Agree with #1.

Have only had 1 tuner/programmer (SuperChips Cortex) and it has worked great. But I'm sure plenty of others may suggestion the Gryphon or Evo.

Viper was a trustworthy system on some of my older vehicles. I have the stock Ford (Audiovox IRRC) system now, so haven't been in the alarm market for a while.

Also agree. Too much body lift looks bad, IMHO. A littler more expensive, but much better return on your investment would be the typical suspension lift.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks guys! A lot of people have told me the exact things y'all have said so I'll probably end up with flowmasters, viper alarm, and a 2 inch body lift. As for the chip a couple of my friends ordered different ones, so I'll see whose chip/tuner ends up working the best for the money.

Get yourself a SCT X3 with custom tunes.
