Default Stuck In Park

I’m hoping someone might have an idea with the following issues I’m having with my 2002 Ford F150 XLT. My truck started fine put it in drive and drove a couple of miles. I put the truck in park to run inside and when I returned to the truck to leave, it was stuck in park. I also have noticed that the windshield wipers are not working, the inside dome lights are not working, and the windows will not roll down. I can trun the key slide it down to neutral and works ro get me moving. I checked all the fuses and all were fine. If anyone have any ideas…

If all the fuses are fine, then I don't know what may be causing the dome lights and wipers to not work. But, as to getting stuck in park, there is a switch at the base of the steering column that makes sure you have pressed the brake pedal before it will let you shift out of park. I think it is called something like a neutral safety switch. If this switch goes bad, then you will not be able to shift out of park.

Good luck.
