Default Strange VIN Issue

Hello,

When I used the VIN decipher tool on this site I was presented information that my 2023 F-150 King Ranch is actually a:

2023 Ford F-150 XL 4WD SuperCrew 5.5' Box

How is this VIN valid for a King Ranch when its loaded compared to a XL version?

Thoughts?

I have never found ANY of the VIN "tools" to be accurate.

Yeah, this. Trim levels and options are NOT encoded in the VIN.

Nothing strange about it....

When I use the VIN DECODER the information presented does not reflect upgrades or add-on’s to the truck over the basic package listed on the new window sticker when it was first purchased.

My window sticker shows an awful lot more information than the VIN tool does.

If you still need the window sticker, I can pull the original one from Ford with your VIN. You can PM me if you prefer to keep your VIN private.

The only VIN tool that will be accurate will be what is maintained by Ford itself. Why? They have the actual build sheet for your Ford pickup and that’s associated with the VIN.
