Strange question
Perhaps I read your reply wrong. Extended cab and supercab is the same thing. The regular cab is what is pictured in the OP. The process for replacing the glass would not be the same between the two.
I'm fairly certain that all 04-08 supercab rear door windows were capable of rolling down. there were different interior panels based on manual, power or "fixed" window, but the construction of the door itself did not change. 97-03 had the pop-out windows. Don't remember if any of the previous gen opened or not. I know my 88 had 2 skinny windows that didn't open. Don't remember if my 96 rear windows opened. I do know my 11 supercab rear windows did.
My old Ford Ranger had the fold down jump seats in the back with those fixed windows. Someone broke the window, I bought a new one and some butyl cord, pushed it into place and clamped it with a few blocks pushing on the outside to seat it overnight. Good as new.
I do believe that these are sealed with butyl cord and are held in by 6 nuts. Those metal clips are actually the studs that pass through the door door frame and are supposed to be permanently attached to the window. If you will notice, those "Clips" line up with those circles on the glass. Those cicles are where the heads of the studs sit. You can try a hundred different things to try to hold it in, but short of replacing it, it will keep falling out. To get to the nuts, you need to remove the interior trim panels. It is recommended to use 5/16 round butyl cord for sealing.
No, there is no way to reattach the clips as they were originally molded in. The cheapest way to replace the window is to go to your local pick-n-pull(junk yard) for a replacement. It would probably cost 25-30 bucks and they may even pull it for you.
There is a difference, although very minor. On a regular cab, the seat is up against the back wall of the cab. Extended cab is longer than a regular cab but shorter than a super cab, it gives extra room for storage but has no room for seats, either bench or jump seats, were as the supercab does have room for seats but very little leg room (good for children but not very good for adults), then there is the supercrew that is longer than the supercab that gives ample leg and head room for adults or very tall children.
The only vehicle that I know of that extended cab and supercab meant the save thing was on the Rangers.

They did give the 04-08 regular cabs more room behind the seat and a tiny door that opened to allow access, but it was never referred to as an extended cab, it was simply the configuration of the regular cab for that range of model years.
