Default strange problem

Yesterday I stopped at the gas station, and when I went to start her back up it tried to start. It sounded like it was missing, knocking, and it was shaking like crazy before it would just stall out. Ultimately it would not start. I unhooked the neg bat terminal for about 5 mins, and waited for about 25mins. Then she fired right up, and I drove home with no problems. It is a 2000 f150 4.2 v-6. Have any of you guys ever heard of this? And if so what the heck is it? I was thinking an ignition module, fuel pump, or the computer just had a brain fart. But I would have had problems driving the 10miles to home from where I was. What do you all think?
Thanks
Jim

Just went out and started her up no problem. Stupid computer. I was leaning more toward that since no other problems came up driving home last night.

I ran around all day long, and it seems like taking the neg terminal off did the trick. Ran great.

Not sure how much help this will be, but my wife's 06 explorer used to get the shakes from time to time when it started, and it ended up being a dirty fuel filter. It only did it like once or twice a week. It would shake pretty hard too. It was because she always waits until the last minute to get gas.

I was a little low on fuel when it started happening. But I am going to change the filter and see before I dig into the gas tank. Damn I hope it is just that simple.
