Sticker Price vs Negotiated Price

Seems like you guys are getting much better deals than I am finding here in Los Angeles. I am looking to lease a fully loaded 2014 FX2 and am only getting MSRP discount offers in the 5k range via Truecar. Does anyone have a dealership to recommend out here? I keep being told that many of the rebates do not apply to leasing but I would imagine with the new model coming out, there has to be some added incentive to move these out. Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

I just got $6200 off sticker and a decent trade in on a $50,400 FX4 SCREW in the NYC area and I feel like I got a good deal. Guess I got to move out of the big city to get a better deal.

When I sold new Ford trucks, we'd sometimes have "invoice" sales. We'd have no problem showing customers the actual dealer invoice. Any factory rebates available at the time would further reduce the cost to the customer. The dealership would realize their profit from factory "Holdback money" with this sort of deal. The dealership would also have potential profit from the "back end" which included financing, extended service plans, exterior/interior protection (First Place Finish).
In a scenario as above, the smart buyer simply negotiates for the best bottom-line price.
If there's a trade-in to consider, then the buyer should negotiate for the smallest possible difference amount.
When buyers got emotional about "what my trade's worth" or "monthly payments" they were generally in a weaker negotiating position. Also consider that dealers can and will make money on financing, so don't hesitate to negotiate on interest rate.
