Default Starter kill or Neutral Switch override for extra security?

Has anyone added a switch to disable the starter or fake out the ignition module to think the vehicle is not in Park or Neutral? Sure it's no guarantee but it's another layer of protection.

I have plenty of ideas of where to hide the kill switch. I need to know which wires to tap and where.

Thanks.

I am a member of another forum and this question has come up before. The mistake someone made was to tell where they mounted their switch. As a result, I had to move mine because mine was in the same place.

I'd like to possibly hook mine up to my carPC and a relay, but I'm not sure how reliable that would be.

I have a couple good ideas on a position for the switch.

shauste, do you have a link?

No, I don't have a link and the switch I hooked up is for a GM product. You would basically need to find a wire that you can slice a switch in to. On older Fords, there is a solenoid mounted either on the firewall or an inside fender that you could splice a switch into the smaller wire. However, my question is...you have a 2010, why are you so worried about this? You key is chipped so one will not be able to start it easily without a key.

IMHO, with all the PATS garbage in the new trucks, a switch/'relay or other addition into the start circuit is just something else that can break.
