Default Splash shield

Hi guys, just noticed the splash shield under my 2019 Lariat has come loose and it appears the 2 rear corners have just snapped off...or rotted off.... and the front 2 bolts are holding it place.

Looks to just be made out of a heavy fabric material and I'm wondering if it's even necessary or can I get away without it

Many of us have fought with that fabric cover that is there for aerodynamics of all things. I replaced mine with an aluminum skid plate to protect the transmission for when I run over debris on the highway like an empty five gallon pail that blew out of a truck in front of me. Oh yes it did happen. That is what damaged my fabric cover. The skid plate is also a deterrent for catalytic converter thefts. There are several long posts around here on skid plates. Regarding your cover, no harm in leaving it off and not worth the money to replace it.

Thanks Bud, maybe I'll just leave it off. With it being made out of some soft fabric type material & so flimsy it fell apart after only 37,000 miles couldn't see much good it did anyways.

There is a metal cover that protects the transmission that can be used to replace the fiber one. Search around here for the transmission skid plate.

Thanks, metal makes far more sense that fiber.
