Default Speaker question.

Not wanting to spend money on speakers, I tried hooking up my bookshelf speakers to an amp I had, in my truck. Upon turning the radio on, I had no sound through the speakers.

The amp does work, and it all is wired correctly. Anybody have any idea of how I can get these working?

The speakers are like these:

well for one house speakers have a different impendance than car speakers.. i think house speakers have 8 ohms impendance where as car speakers have 4 ohms.. Im not sure if that would cause them not to play or not.. but ive heard you can wire your speakers in a certain way to lower the impendance from 8 to 4.. ill have to try to find the page i was reading on about this kind of stuff

Well the amp Im using can handle 4 - 8 ohms. So I wouldn't think that would be an issue.

They may not have an amp, but may have a built in crossover or bandpass filter for the tweeters installed on there. I'd say you'd be better off to just go to woly world and get some cheap speakers and call it a day.
