Spark plug wire surge
Hi all. I'm new to the forum. I bought a 92 F150, 5.0 with the 4AOD about five months ago. The engine was misfiring. At first I thought it was the transmission but popped the hood after dark and saw a spark between the spark plug wire at the boot, jumping to the header at cylinder #5. I added a new set of wires and it mostly took care of the problem. A couple of months ago, the engine began misfiring again, so I put in new plugs and a cap and rotor and it ran clean. On a rainy day about a month later, I noticed the same surge again at #5. I put in some Bosch wires and the problem cleared up. I also just noticed that the passenger side of the engine has a spark plug heat shield while the driver side does not. I think the lack of the shield is causing the premature damage to wire #5. Does anyone else have this problem? Does this engine normally have a shield on the driver side header?

So, I guess this forum is pretty much useless, huh? No one on here knows if they also have a sparkplug wire shield on the driver's side exhaust header of a 92 or so, 5.0 F150? That's all I need to know.
what your looking for can easily be found by GOOGLE. or your owners manual. or call a dealership.or by a ton of other means.
im sorry someone on here doesnt have your exact truck and can answer your question. do a little research.

Also might try posting in the correct section of the forum (there's a section for your "generation").
If no one replied it's because they don't know the answer, guess you better start using some other resources...
