Default Spark Plug Extension Length

I am going to change spark plugs on my 2014 3.5L eco. I want to order magnetic socket with extension, but don't know what length of extension I need. They offer them in 3, 6, & 10" lengths with the socket attached. What have you all used?

Thanks.

I have a lot of extensions in various sizes. 3", 6",10", etc. and various spark plug sockets.

Just get a set and connect them all together and you could tape where the extensions connect with one another to make sure the extension doesn't pop off while down removing/adding spark plug.

You could get a set of extensions from Harbor Freight for less than $10. I even had the craftsman version. All the same.

Thanks TexasRedfish. I tried once what you suggested about using a couple of extensions and freaking got one stuck on the sparkplug with the socket and had a hell of a time trying to get the socket and extension out.

What I would really like to know is if anyone has done their spark plugs on a 3.5L and what was the length that you used. I want to order one that has a magnet instead of the rubber gasket that they usually come with (they get stuck on the spark plug too).

Appreciate any feedback !!!

Thanks Fellas !

I have the 15 2.7 Eco. The one I have is 6". and needed to add a 3" extension to get the back ones. Other than that 6" did fine for the rest.
The 6" did stick out of the well sufficiently to avoid that, just the extension because of the wire harness on the passenger side.

Thanks Fred, greatly appreciate the info. I ordered a 6" magnetic socket with swivel head from gearhead. Ill going to change out the plugs and update on how it came out.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
