Default Sometimes I laugh!

On the way in to work today I was two cars behind a very lifted F150 with giant tires. It was so big and impressive. Not being snarky it was a very nice looking truck!

My F150 is on loan to my father so I was in the 96 Ford Ranger.

With traffic we were doing MAYBE 20 mph.

Suddenly the big PU swerves left completely into the oncoming lane and then back again to the appropriate lane. Obviously the driver was going around something in the road. No worries here folks, there was zero oncoming traffic so there was no danger at all. Just an avoidance maneuver!

The car in front of me failed to go around what was in the road.
As I kept rolling I literally started to laugh! Nope. I did not swerve either!

There was road work and the crew put one of those metal plates over the entire lane. It was inset and patched nicely to the road! No sharp edges.

Yes, I felt it as I drove over it but it was literally nothing! lol!

Guess the guy the the very nice lifted F150 with giant tires felt his rig couldn't handle the . . . . .bump in the road! LOL!

Either way, it left me with a silly smile knowing how tough our Ranger is! LOL!

Hope your day started as well!

We have some train tracks near the house and the speed limit is 45mph. It always cracks me up to see trucks slow down to go over them. I'd fly over them in the Prius and while I could feel them, they are used daily and well maintained.

The ones who do that kind of stuff to their trucks or buy them that way, are generally the ones afraid to use them, slow down for every tiny bump in the road, and will never see a spec of dirt. A.K.A. Mall Crawler

Sometimes I laugh at how many here care so much about how others spend their money and treat their vehicle when driving it. Or assume because they saw a truck for one minute out of the other 525,000 there are in a year, that it never goes off road or hauls/tows anything.

So what?

Agreed. It's like when you see a mini Cooper swing wide to park when the lot is empty.

I drive one of those lifted trucks with large tires, and I avoid bumps and potholes if possible. Not that k don't think my truck can handle it, but if I can avoid them I do. No point in wear and tear on my truck that isn't necessary. I didn't buy my truck to off-road, and it rarely sees dirt, but I bought it to pull my boat, atv, lawnmower, or anything I need/want that won't fit in a car. I lifted bc, well, I wanted to.

He probably didn't want to risk knocking his front end alignment out. It can happen if you hit pot holes rail road tracks, or debris on the road. It could cost you $50-$100 for another alignment or excessive wear on your front tires if you don't know your alignment is out.

I agree with this. I tow more with my "pavement princess" that 3/4 of the people here. I have a 28' pontoon and a 31' TT. I have hauled 1,000 lb. red granite boulders in my bed through creek crossings on my parents 400 acres. I use my truck like a truck. I do however keep it clean and take very good care of it in the maintenance department. As stated, why do others care what or how we use our trucks? We all have a use for them, just because it isn't to your understanding, then there is an issue?
