yes they are trucks and chips/scratches are inevitable, but you want to prevent them as much as possible.. i feel you pain.. i got my first chip on my truck... it was my fault... :/ i forgot my phone in the colsole, i opened the pass door too fast and too far and i smacked the bottom edge on a brick wall... just underneath the door edge protector... its not noticeable unless you look for it, but i know its there...
i guess its not as bad as when my friend dropped the tailgate from my old truck on top of the trailer jack handle and proceeded to jump on to unload his gear... i just about ripped his head off.. lol

Sorry about that paint chip, complete bummer. People are so careless and rude.

I often leave an empty spot on both sides of me. Almost always I come back to find someone parked right next to me. Sometimes if they are too close accidents happen(LOL) cause I have plastic doors on one of my cars.
I imagine I'll have similar concerns when I get my truck. Though my policy is usually to park with vehicles on either side but well spaced. This way you can have at least some assurance.

Or you can be one of those jerkoffs that accidentally park just enough over the line that you effectively consume two spaces.

Time for Ford body molding. Same color, just install over the chip.

That does suck *** to get it that way. My trucks cherry popped when on an almost flat parking lot a coworker forgot to set the ebrake on his acura sedan. It did a slow roll into the LF black painted part of the bumper. After getting buffed out you could see a scratch if you knew where to find it but before that it looked worse.

Since then I've found 2 near the bed which I probably did hauling brush.

Anyway, sorry to see that on your ride. Time for the touch up paint!
