Default silly question

Will my bed mat (25lbs) with nothing on it fly off freeway driving with open bed?

Why not get a tonneau cover for the bed. I have a Lund that cost me under 200 and works great! After a 50 dollar rebate, I have about 140 total in it! Then the mat will stay put no matter how fast you truck on down the freeway!

I had a heavy rubber mat in a Ranger. It never flew out but it did flop up and around at freeway speeds.
Best to put some weight on it.

Just putting this out there: the "Mythbusters" show looked in to whether it was beneficial (better aerodynamics / better gas mileage) to put your pickup tailgate down, or just leave it up/closed. They actually found that it was more beneficial to leave it up/closed. Of course you can do whatever lights your board, though.

25 lbs would be hit or miss, if for whatever reason the wind catches under one corner, you may see your mat fly up to the windshield behind you...
i'd put some weight on it, even just a 2x4 diagonally across if the mat itself is not "secured" to the bed (glued, velcro...)

Have a DeeZee rubber bed mat in the back of my F150.That thing weighs at least 50 pounds. The only way it would come out would be if the truck rolled.

I had the Ford bed mat in my 2006 F150 and now I have another Ford bed mat in my 2014 F150 and no issues with the mat with the tail gate up or with the tail gate down.
