Default Shocks

So it is time for new shocks. I will also be changing all 4 control arms out too because my bushings and and ball joints are bad. Does anyone have experience with these fox shocks not the ones with reservoirs just the regular. Or does anyone have any advice on which shocks to get? I don't do much offroading but I do have 35" a/to am looking at getting maybe the nitro 9000 RC shocks. Thanks

I have the Fox 2.0 non-reservoir shocks out back that were an option on my 8" BDS lift...I love them.

On a side note, I am in the process of changing out my upper control arms, lower control arms, tie rods, and both sets of bushings on my sway bar....I couldnt get 2 of the cam bolts out of the lower control arms as they were seized inside the bushing. I got one bolt off per side and had to use a sawsall to cut the other 2 out. So I have one side of my truck completed, but am waiting on 2 new cam bolts from BDS that I ordered yesterday.

Just want to give you a heads up that the lower control arm cam bolts might be a bi***. Mine are 6.25" long which cannot be ordered anywhere except the lift kit manufacturer. I tried Advance Auto but the only ones they had were 4.8" long. The stock ones are too short as well so getting them from Ford is out of the question. Dont destroy the bolts in case you cant get them out. Hopefully you have better luck than me.

I dont know if there is a set number, but i just hit 100,000 miles and needed new balljoints. I put my lift on at 94,000 miles so im sure it just wore out the parts a little quicker.

I needed new upper ball joints so i got MOOG greasable ones which is the whole new control arm. I needed new lower ball joints but instead of just getting the new ball joints and pressing out the old ones and replacing with new ones, I got whole new arms. When I put the lift on, I semi-destroyed one of the bushings on the lower control arm where the cam bolts go through. I couldnt get the bolt out so I heated up the bolt which melted the bushing a bit. So I figured I'd replace the whole thing this time around. Those were MOOG lower control arms as well. The tie rods needed to be replaced because the bushings were shot. They were just worn out from the 35" tires and the 37's that i currently have. Those are MOOG greasable as well. Finally, the sway bar bushings needed replaced because they were dried out and made a noise everytime I went over a bump. I figured since I was replacing everything else that I should do that as well. Again, I used MOOG parts to replace the old ones.

I would say around 100,000 is a good time to replace things but also just check temporarily on how bushings look and you can go from there.
