my 2001 supercrew is now running like sweet purring kitten, but how do i turn off the service engine soon light? any help?

 

sometimes you can "borror or rent" a scanner at your local auto parts store, and reset it that way

 

otherwise disconnect the battery negative cable for 15 minutes and it will reset itself.

 

Why did the CEL come on? Was it something that was fixed?

Usually, I'd find what the cause of the CEL is because if that's fixed, it should go away. On occasion they still come up after issue was fixed but whomever fixed it should have cleared it.

Unless you fixed the problem yourself?

 

Thanks guys, but the light has gone out. apparently after a number of 'engine cycles' the light will go out if there are no further problems. rebaf
