Would the valve cover gaskets have anything to do w/my service engine light turning on?

Ok so I haven't updated you all. My seals and head gasket valves did not need to be replaced. I took it to the mechanic and he said the oil it had was old. He cleaned that off which wasn't cleaned when I had the engine washed. This was over 2 months and it has not leaked anything. He said that oil could have been there from previous oil changes. But either way my eng light was on. He also fixed it and (knock on wood) it has not turned on. It was the Airflow sensor he had to replace again. He said the one he replaced first time was defective. The truck does run better and I do not hear any noise. He ran the smoke machine thru it to be safe. He said he didn't find anything...THANK GOD! So for now the F150 is running good! I am around Chevy lovers and Ford haters but the Ford is mine and that is all that matters! Thank you all for all your advice, tips, sharing your situations, and comments. I really appreciated all the help!

First of all thanks to all for your help! Second sorry for the misspelled words ugh! Third my truck has been running fine. In the end it was the IPC Valve that they used to replace was bad so they replaced it again.
