On my 2015 F150, I put a Lund tonneau cover over the bed. However I wanted to have a place to lock my tools safely and something that would fit in the bed under the Lund bed cover. Being that if someone unsnapped the cover, even with the tailgate locked, someone could steal a normal toolbox with my tools.

I bought a under a flatbed locking toolbox from Amazon that would normally be used with a big flatbed truck. I put in round eye bolts on each side, then bought 4 locks all keyed alike and some chain. I also put some thick weather stripping under the cabinet to keep the aluminum from damaging the bed liner. Then I secured it in the front of the bed and now still have plenty of space to carry things.


Just an idea for any of you that might like a tonneau cover yet want secure storage. Yes, a professional thief with big bolt cutters could steal it with help as it is loaded and heavy, however the kid that tries to take my big tool case might go elsewhere as it will be a PITA to get out.
