Default Rust rust rust!

How do i stop my doors from rusting on the bottom from the inside? Also, how are you guys cleaning the rust off your frames? Is there a better way than using a circular wire brush that connects to a drill? That's what I've been doing but it just seems to take so long.

i prolong the life of the bottom of my doors by shooting some motor oil down into the bottom door seem. you dont need much but it will sit in there and help prevent rust from forming. as far as frame rust a wire wheel is the best way to get it off, short of a flap grinding wheel but i wouldnt go crazy with that on your frame. if youre considering painting the frame look into POR-15. its a paint made for painting over rust and its supposed to stop more rust from forming, plus it looks good. I did the frame of my ranger with it if you want to see pics of it.

Ya. Pictures would be awesome. How long has it been on your frame for? I kinda have doubts about how well that stuff works. But I could be wrong.

its been on my frame for about 3 years and no rust has come through and none has flaked off anywhere. its not as shiney as it used to be but it still looks good. if the frame is clean from dirt and grease before you paint it nothing short of a grinder will take this stuff off. it adheres the best to rusty surfaces.

Wow. That really does look nice! Did you have to order the paint? Cause I went all over town today looking for it, and couldn't find it anywhere.

thanks! i got it from an automotive paint supply store thats local here. its kind of pricey for a quart but a quart should do your whole frame.
