Default Rust issues

I live in the north eastern US and with our snowy winters and use of road salts my 2000 F150 has some pretty bad rust. This is a very common problem for the 10th generation trucks, as I see it in most that I look at. I was wondering if this problem was corrected in later generations? It's time for a new used truck and I don't want to have to go to Florida to buy it. I'm thinking a 12th gen this time.

I have seen 12gen with cab corner rust, but I would say its rare given how many F150s I see on the road overall.

10th, 11th and 12th generation all rust just about the same. I can’t speak for the 13th gen.

All three generations get the same wheel well rust, inner door lip and tailgate rust that eventually works it way to the outside, cab corner rust, lower front fender rust, etc.

Here in Vermont I’ve seen them all. Trucks are new as 2013 have rust bubbles on the rear wheel wells and cab corners.

Id try a 2015+ truck. The body won’t rust (only the future will tell us how it’ll hold up or corrode) but the frame will and suspension will.
