do you feel any lurching or clunking when you shift it into reverse from idle? Could be as simple as your motor mounts are worn out and need replacing. I would also check the MAF and cleaning the carbon off your throttle body won't help either.

If you're feeling adventurous you could always attempt to visually inspect the spark plugs, but like most of us on this board - you're probably best leaving that one to a dealership!

I have a 99 F150 with the 5.4. You wont get an engine code until the coil has more of a failure. You can either take each coil out and check resistance or give your engine compartment a bath around the coils. The moisture will make the coil perform worse and should show a code

I'm thinking it needs a tune up. And isn't that expensive for it? Or is there any how-to's on here about how to do it? Thanks guys!!

You can spray down the engine with a hose?

Yes you can spray the engine with a hose. Engines are cleaned all the time. I would suggest doing it to a cold engine. You do not need a ton of water. You can also use a spray bottle and spray each coil pack. Also to force a code you can power brake your truck. No need to burn out just apply your brake and give it enough gas so your tires do not spin. This will usually force a code as well.

And that should hopefully make a coil pack engine code to come up? This is really bothering me.

If I spray the coils with a spray bottle, should the motor be on or off during spraying?

First 2 cheapest ways, buy seafoam at any auto parts store YouTube it or how to do it correctly. Or but throttle body cleaner and clean out your throttle body, and air filter. Of problem still occurs may be a bigger problem.

I know it's gotta be a coil because my buddy's expedition does the same exact thing and he has an engine light on. I'm just determined to figure out what coil mine is.
