Default Running boards on or off?

Trying to decide if I want my running boards on or off or a new style. What do you think?

I like the look with them off but found I used them more than I thought so I put them back on.

I prefer off but not sure how this would be on a SCrew.

I much prefer the look of them off, but having them on is certainly beneficial to those who need a boost. The ideal solution is to install retractable steps that only appear when the door is opened. I've spent enough money lately, but I do plan to purchase a set next year.

Expensive and problems waiting to happen.

Firemedic679, you already have what I pictured so give them a try and see what you think. And, shoot some pics with two on one side for us to see. Not sure of the spacing on a SCrew but front and rear might work.

You CAN have the best of both worlds.

Looks way better off, but my five year old needs them. Otherwise I'd take them off.

Amp steps for the win. As for problems waiting to happen, they have a 5 year warranty, better than the truck itself.

Thanks for the input guys. Right now I'm leaning towards off. I have a 9 yr old and she "hops" into the truck, so I may try it out and see how she does. They came off super easy so putting them back on will be no problem. I looked at the amp steps but out of my budget right now.

I like the look without them, but need them to protect the sides of the truck from rocks flinging up. I tried without for awhile and ended up with lots of paint damage. I also have a long gravel driveway and drive on a lot of dirt roads though.
