Default Rivian using F150s for test mules...

I know the Rivian has been discussed here before, with many either loving it or hating it, but I just ran across this story of how Rivian is using F150 bodies as test mules for their chassis and running gear.

Interesting article, but something caught my eye, LOL.

"We need something to keep the weather out while we put a lot of miles on our skateboard, so they're driving around in Detroit right now, too," Scaringe told the Detroit Free Press. "They're all over the place, but nobody knows. We're very quiet about that."
OK, you people in Detroit listen up.

If an older F-150 goes by you, and you can't hear the engine, guess what?

Not older model F-150. They're using a 15+ body on the power-chassis they call the skateboard. Take a look at these pics. https://insideevs.com/rivian-electri...s-off-roading/

You can clearly see the Rivian chassis below from the rear shot showing the air suspension.

It also looks like a SuperCab with a 5.5' bed. Something that has not been offered in the current gen, 15+ (excluding Raptor)

Don't worry, we are replacing a bunch of the machinery in the old plant with new stuff.

I design conveyor systems for all kinds of auto mfgs.

I've worked for Nissan, Toyota, Honda, Ford, GM, Chrysler, Tesla....etc.

Much of the equipment in the Mitsu. plant was supplied by my company.

I think the giant door on the front fender for the "plug-in" is also a dead giveaway haha
