Default Is Reverse Sensing Necessary with Backup Camera?

Working on a build sheet for an XLT and am wondering if reverse sensing makes sense if you have a backup camera. I am going with the 301A because I want the HDPP. You can't get the 302A (which includes reverse sensing) when you order the HDPP. Please share your thoughts.

Not at all. I have a backup camera without reverse sensing (301A). Personally, I think the bumper looks better without the sensors too.

I think it's worth it. The cross traffic alerts are great too.

I Have a new 2016 XLT with the 301A and the backup camera.

If I could add two things my truck doesn't have,
1) rear sensors and
2) power folding mirrors.

Although the rear camera is an ENORMOUS help in parking lots, I miss the sensors from my old Silverado (no camera). First, it can be difficult to judge distances on the camera. Second, and more importantly, the sensors can warn you of things crossing into your path like little kids.

The power folding mirrors would be a luxury.

Im happy to have it. The ultra wide angle of the camera can be slightly deceiving when close to objects and it's nice to have it for supplement support.

I especially like how the sync 3 screen show you exactly what sensors are registering.

See here for example:

It's on my 14 but I actually disabled my reverse sensors because I back into my garage everyday and it drives me crazy.

Old school looking over my shoulders plus the camera equals never hit anything.....so far.

Default Necessary

Necessary, probably not...nice to have, yes. Will it keep you from hitting somehing even though you have the camera, it may. If it does, will it pay for itself...most likely.

I vote you throw it in there.

I have the 302A and have found the reverse sensing to be annoying. I have to set it off anytime I have the WDH installed in the receiver as it is large enough to set off the alarm. I also don't like the way it bleeps when I am using the distance lines on the camera to backup where I want to stop. Like many other things in the 2015's and later you have to turn it off each time you start the truck as it does not remember the last setting. This is one of my beefs with Ford not allowing me to determine the default settings for the many features on the truck.

One sensor feature I don't have but wish I did is blind spot monitoring. It is on my wife's car and I have found it useful more than once.
