Default Reverse Light Help!!

Recently purchased a 2013 XLT. The reverse lights do not work. I have checked all fuses in the kick panel as well as under the hood. All were good. I also checked for power at the connection under the rear of the truck. No power! What next?

You have to do some trouble shooting and work backwards to find where the power problem is. A test light or volt meter is a must for this.

It might be a broken wire, might be bad ground. It could be a lot of things, melted plugs/sockets even. Could be something simple as... a bad bulb (sorry had to say it)

I had a problem one time with a reverse light on another vehicle. Basically I found that there was a break in the wire inside the harness from the tail light to the junction block at the rear of the vehicle. I just ran a new wire.

Let us know if you figure it out.

HINT/TIP: You'll find posting in the
Late Model F150s > 2009 - 2014 Ford F150
section more helpful/appropriate than General F150 Discussion posts.

Do your lights come on if you slowly shift from neutral to reverse or park to reverse? If so it may be your Neutral safety switch isn't aligned properly. May also be a bad neutral safety switch if it's not a wire.

This post is from Sept 2015. I'm pretty sure they either found a solution or gave up.
