i ended up ordering the Retrax pro and got a forum discount via real truck.
sure like the look... and then I see the video of it folding up and wonder; how does it fold when I have gear in the back stacked to the top?

and what happens to water or snow on too when I fold it?

Looks sharp. I just ordered one for my truck as well. Easy install? Do you have your bed sprayed - was wondering if that adds any complication?

You're correct on all your speculation. I had a Peragon on a previous truck. I will say that the company provides amazing customer service and support. They tracked shipping and called me the day it arrived to verify that everything appeared satisfactory and to offer any support necessary for my install. Then called a few days later to check on me to see how install went and to see if there were any questions or issues.

That aside, the design is just a bit flawed. If you had items near the tailgate, and they slid forward while driving, you could not open the cover without having to crawl forward to pull the items back and allow the cover to "break" down at the front so it could accordion open. Also, it leaked a lot more than the RetraxPRO MX I currently have. No issue with snow in the southeast, but that's really not anything that any of the covers won't have some issue with. Peragon is a great value product for the quality of the materials, build and customer service, but the design and water tightness left a little to be desired for me.

looked at Retrax, Peregon, rollnlock. ( found a brand Mountain Top made in Australia that is awesome but not sold here in states)
what retractable cover do you have? What do you like and dislike about your brand?
I regret buying a Peregon. It looks nice, but because of the way i fan-folds, if a package ends up sliding near the cab, you have to crawl in the bed to retrieve it. I'm looking at alternatives currently too.

Very easy install. Bed has a duraliner insert in it. Also very easy install.

Thanks man. Did you run the drains through the two small panels in the front of the bed (remove & drill)?

Installed my Retrax pro Mx yesterday. Other than two of the screw holes not being tapped properly, install was easy by myself. Happy with the look and construction. It does take up space in the short bed. Time will tell on how it holds up but has lifetime warranty
tip for those installing: test screw holes on the bed rails for proper threading before you attach it to the sliding cover. I had to run screws through the backside a few times to get screws to seat in the threads

Hello! I always recommend Retrax, or GatorTrax(Made by Retrax as mentioned above) These covers are some of the nicest retractables, in my opinion, As mentioned multiple times from members above, They can be locked in any position along the bed, A few other keynotes to mention about these covers, They are one of the few, if not the only ones that require very little maintenance, They use a sealed ball bearing design that keeps the ball bearing operating smoothly without having to lubricate them every few months, The covers can be locked independently from the tailgate with a Key, And you can open and close the tailgate without having to open the cover first.
