Virus/spam/spyware free. Load a pic (use it as your default viewer), CNTRL R (resize), set the size, save. Great for setting background images at places where thay have "disabled" that feature on corporate laptops..

I love irfaniew, but for quickly resizing pictures, you can't beat the little Windows PowerToy.
Just Google windows powertoy image resizer and you'll find it. After a simple install, you just select a file (or a big group of files), right-click, and click "Resize Image". It gives you a few different size options and then does the rest for you. Very nice.
Having said all that, I have no idea if it works with Vista or not.
