Default Replacing mirror signal indicator only

Is it possible to change just the signal strip in the mirrors? I have stock power everything mirrors and just need to change the signal part and found the below online for a lot cheaper than the entire mirror. Has anybody done this or maybe this is just for a certain type of mirror.

they sell the part separately, so it can be changed without having to buy the complete housing again.

It would be really nice if I can do this instead of paying $250 for a mirror. I am wondering though has anybody done this or had the mirror apart for other reasons and saw this part and how hard it might be to change. I am not even sure how my mirror housing would come apart unless its obvious when pulled from the truck.

the internet is a pretty useful tool. right around the 4 minute mark you'll see what you need. very visible an looks easy enough to be removed.

Yup, researched it on the internet and saw this however this is not the signal lamp I am talking about. It's the aft light just below the mirror. Photo attached.

did you watch the video? Don't worry about what the video is talking about, you're focusing on the wrong part of the story. you can see the wire harness you would unclip and you can see where the LED's would unclip from the side mirror assembly.

Oh wait, I found another one with an even better picture and almost at the same 4 minute mark.

they clip right in.
