The ones you mentioned fit 98-08 (3156 bulb). The 09+ use the smaller 921/194 base.

That is some good info there. Especially 3156 is for up to 2008 and the 921 2009. Did not know that. Thanks.

What a good cousin. So what backup bulbs do you have now and are you happy with them? On the JDM website they only show the 921 with led only I sure wished they had the led at the end WITH the globe to magnify the directional beam rearward. Like they have for the 3156 bulbs.

So the first pair I bought was the Aaron 3156. Powered them up at work with 12v and they are damn bright. Realized I couldn't use them, and had read good reviews for the Philips 921's. It looks like they have a a similar globe, but its just a painted cap, the lights are in the inside, and reflect back and need a good lens. I didn't like them much, may give them to the cousin for his cargo bulbs. Good light, but not the extreme I was looking for for reverse. Since those 3156's advertised as 1000 lumens, I used that as my criteria and found some good discussions about the 3rd ones I bought (Rayhoo 921 bulbs). They are brighter than the Philips, and still there now, but still leave room to be desired. Really wish the 3156 fit in there.

My next set would prob be a JDM ASTAR with the globe on the end, but I'm not sure which would be best yet.....

I called JDM. Said yours are perfect and very bright. They told me to go with the Globe one. it's as bright but really magnifies the beam direction outwards. link below

Post some pics once you install I need to document with pics how mine look, and would do so if it warmed up some more. Was thinking about taking a pic off to the side like my cousins, his full rear shot makes it look dark, since the light shining at the camera darkens everything else. Or trying standing in the box, and taking a pic of the field of light.
