Default replacing airbags

I'm new here. My name is Peter. I have a 2003 white f150 long bed supercab. To make a long story short I crashed my truck last night just fast enough to deploy the airbags. My question is: How much am I looking at to get both of them replaced? How much would it cost if I were to do it myself? Thanks in advance.

As for the cost, depending on the mileage of your truck its gonna be more than your truck is worth unless you can find good airbags at your local junk yard. On top of the bags, you should also swap out your SRS control unit, crash sensor that got tripped and your steering wheel/airbag contact ring. It should still be a worthwhile investment (just slightly) if you do the work yourself. I highly suggest obviously disconecting your battery but also taping the positive and negitive wires together for about 24hrs before you attempt this yourself so that any capacitors in the truck that hold power will be drained.

Good luck my friend. Godspeed.

hate to burst your bubble but if you deployed your airbags you are probably looking at damage else where too, I’m going to go out on a limb and say I’m willing to bet that you probably totaled your truck, if not damn close.

Have to agree, it will be expensive to replace and usually much more damage. Wouldn't recommend doing that yourself, airbags are touchy.

Sorry about your bad luck.

I got it checked out and it's not totalled, thank God. How much am I looking at if I have a body shop do replace them?

Personally, I would put covers back on and drive it without them until I could afford a new truck...
