Replaced my headlights
I know - it's not the most interesting thread but I just replaced mine because one of them had gone out. I was interested to find that our trucks have the dual low/highs in one bulb. Mine were still the factory lamps dated March 2000 so I'm pretty impressed with the life they gave. I picked up the Sylvania ones that are 30% brighter (according to the package anyways
). They aren't the silverstar ones or anything but the difference is extremely noticeable (how much of that is from the upgraded lamp I don't know because it's hard to judge seeing that lamps put out less light as they age).
What a PITA to change the lamps themselves though! On one side I had to remove the plastic cover over the rad - then unbolt the coolant reservoir tank to get enough space to wiggle my hand in. On the other side I had to unbolt the air conditioner (tank)? and it even then I had to SLOWLY wiggle around with the socket and the lamp to get it to snap in.
Anyways its done but I definately think they were designed that way so people would pay the dealership to do it!
